Issue 6 Is Here!

Issue 6 is here in digital and paper! What’s inside? Here, let us enlighten you…

Six issues in and we’re brimming over with ideas for new and invigorating features and layouts. Viva la Revolution, good folk of tattoo land! Grab a shiny spoon and tuck in to the delights of April’s edition…

One of Russia’s best kept secrets, Katerina Mikky Volkova is an artist of quite extraordinary capabilities and we’re thrilled to bring you an exclusive interview with the lady herself.

More Australian stylings come courtesy of Dean Kalcoff, an exciting young tattooist who has already established himself as a strong portrait artist but is now branching out into new territory.

Gabriel Cece, Tanane Whitfield and the cast of Studio EvoLve light up our pages with personalities as colourful and intriguing as the tattoos they create, and our journey inside the Virginia Beach parlour proves to be a special one.

One of tattooing’s intrepid explorers, Victor Policheri rarely receives the credit of which he is so deserving. We managed to capture his thoughts as he plans yet another trek to take his tattoo armoury to every possible corner of the globe!

We explore the nature of women’s representation in the tattoo world, delve into the myths and mysteries surrounding laser tattoo removal, Michael Rose renders a portrait using his airbrush for our tutorial, and full coverage comes from the inaugural Scottish Tattoo Convention and the second instalment of the Essex Tattoo Expo.

Hold the bus, there’s more! Chris Wroblewski discusses his new publication, Swallow Tattoo Studio, and the rich heritage that surrounds it, and we’ve another spellbinding Spotlight On… with a smattering of artists attending the North Lakes Tattoo Show this month.

As usual, there are the regulars in the form of Tattoo Talk, The Apprentice Diaries and Dermal Diary for your enjoyment, plus an editorial battle that asks: have tattoo reality shows been of benefit or hindrance to the tattoo world?

Viva punk rock spirit!

The Scottish Tattoo Convention This Weekend!

We’re there and we hope many of you will be too!

With an artist list consisting of an incredible array of domestic and foreign artists of the highest calibre, the Scottish Tattoo Convention is shaping up to be a cracking weekend. Get involved!

Subscription Competition & A Very Special Prize…

As you lovely people are undoubtedly aware, we’ve run a monthly competition whereby one lucky purchaser of a physical copy of Tattoo Revolution Magazine wins a twelve month subscription. Seeing as it’s the last instalment of this amazing give-away, we’ve really upped the ante and managed to pull together a spectacular prize!

The Liverpool International Tattoo Convention takes place this May 14th & 15th at the Adelphi Hotel and they’ve allowed us to put some tickets up for grabs: one lucky person will scoop a weekend ticket to the convention and one purchaser of shop copies will lay their hands on a pair of tickets to the UK Tattoo Industry Awards (accept no imitations!) Gala Night on Friday 13th May, a very special trade-only event to celebrate the winners of the original and independent UK Tattoo Industry Awards – you can still vote for your favourite artists and publications.

Those of you who have already bought copies of the current issue (single issues, shop copies and those who have already subscribed since the beginning) will be entered into the draw for the tickets and of course, one lucky individual will scoop the subscription to TRM.

What are you waiting for? Go, go, go!

Home Again!

As we unpack after a bustling weekend at the Manchester Tattoo Show, we plan to spend the next few hours piecing the last bits of the puzzle together for issue 5. Nearly half a dozen editions already done – scary stuff!

To keep you entertained in the meantime, our latest podcast/video preview of issue 3 is done and dusted, with more to come soon.

Love,

TRM

Congratulations, Mr. Ward!

That’s right, we have another subscription winner!

Steven Ward is the lucky recipient of a twelve-month subscription to Tattoo Revolution after being picked out of the hat following his purchase of a copy of issue 4, so we hope he enjoys his spoils.
